Oh, I almost left out the challenge mode. The small cons that I have with this game are: the load times are long at certain moments, some deaths are unfair (Pyrogen with his exploding grab) and the dialogue is SLOWWWW & CHEEEEEEEESY. Overall, the game was very enjoyable & doesn't deserve all the mainstream hate it got. Then again, I've only played it on the Xbox One, not on the other 9 platforms. The game is also priced at $19.99, which is a very modest price.

The visuals, characters, voices, and plot are all of incredibly poor quality. Unlike other retro games MN9 tries (and fails) to emulate, MN9 does not cater to a variety of play styles. It instead forces player into a speed run mentality and is quick to punish anyone who falls behind. If this is the spiritual successor to Mega Man we at least know why Capcom wouldn't let Inafune continue the series.

It's a retro 2D platformer that focuses too much on speed runs and it's energy gathering mechanics and some how forgets it's supposed to be a Megaman game. If you live to replay a game just to beat your best time, you will love this. If that's not your thing, wait until it's on sale to add this game to your XB1 Megaman collection. At times it's super frustrating and other times it's super fun. The game can be Challenging at times and make you think about What weapon you need to pass a certain area. Above all else it felt like a great sense of pride to beat a game I felt was challenging where most games today are just so easy.
